How to get your Part 107 certificate
You need a Remote Pilot Certificate to fly a drone for work or business under Part 107. You must be at least 16, and the knowledge test is the main hurdle.
- Get an FAA Tracking Number (FTN) by creating a free profile in IACRA.
- Book and pass the knowledge test (Unmanned Aircraft General – Small) at an FAA-approved testing center.
- Apply in IACRA with your test ID. After a TSA security check you receive a temporary certificate, then the permanent card by mail.

Questions
Is this the official FAA test?
No. Drone Test Ready is an independent practice tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA. The questions are written fresh from 14 CFR Part 107, the FAA Remote Pilot Study Guide and the Airman Knowledge Testing Supplement. You still book and sit the real test at an FAA-approved testing center.
The FAA has free study material. Why pay?

Does it cover the new chart questions?
